Majid Khan

Dr. Khan is an experienced geophysicist researching the application of geophysical techniques for understanding subsurface geology (shallow and deep earth). He is engaged in teaching, research, and international collaborations in the fields of applied geophysics, rock mechanics, mining geophysics, tectonics, and petroleum exploration. Worked on several oil and mining industry projects. Dr. Khan is the Principal Investigator of three major projects including one 'Research Funds for International Young Scientists' awarded by National Science Foundation of China.
Dr. Khan is supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students for research as well as co-supervisor of number of PhD students. He is also acting as the Vice President of Society of Exploration Geophysicisits (SEG)-Student Chapter China (world No. 1 and highly renowned society of geophysics experts), International Secretary of "International Committee on Mine Safety Science and Engineering" and active member of AAPG, AGU, EGU, ICMSSE.
Award of Excellent International Postdoctoral Exchange Fellowship (High Talent Introduction), OCPC China.
Vice President of Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) - China Student Chapter (Best Performance Award). CAS-TWAS President Fellowship Award for outstanding researchers to pursue doctoral studies (2014-2018).
2nd Position secured in All China National Exploration Geophysicists Competition (2017). Award of Travelling Grants for 2016 GSGS Summer School in University of Cologne, Germany.
Merit based scholarships for excellent academic performance during Bachelor and Master Studies (2007 and 2009-2011). Merit based Laptop Award from Chief Minister of Punjab, Pakistan (2012).
Gold Medalist in Bachelor Studies at Islamia College, University of Peshawar (2008).
