Ababeel Information
I am currently employed as an assistant research scientist at the Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Sciences (BAQIS). BAQIS is an innovative research institution initiated by the Beijing Municipal Government and co-founded with China's top universities and research institutions, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
I obtained my PhD in Physics (experimental condensed matter physics) from COMSATS University, Islamabad, in 2015. My doctoral research focused on magnetoelectric devices. Following my PhD, I served at the Department of Physics at COMSATS University, Islamabad.
Subsequently, I completed my postdoctoral research at the Department of Physics, Tsinghua University, in 2020.
.
My current research project focuses on Quantum Transport in Quantum Materials, particularly in various low-dimensional quantum materials, with a special emphasis on superconductivity. My research aims to explore extreme electric/magnetic field-driven control of different physical properties, which is crucial for the development of the next generation of multifunctional devices.
I have gained valuable experience in a highly dynamic research environment while collaborating with leading scientists from around the world. My research work has been presented at several prestigious scientific events and published in well-reputed scientific journals.
I have a deep passion for serving humanity, particularly my community, in any way possible. Following the devastating earthquake of 2005 in my hometown of Muzaffarabad, Pakistan, I volunteered for rescue operations. I collaborated with various international NGOs, serving as a guide, interpreter, and leader in debris removal and corpse recovery operations. Additionally, I provided first aid to the injured, helped construct shelters, and assisted in distributing relief supplies. Working alongside medical teams, I served as an interpreter to provide medical support to those in need. For my volunteer efforts, I was awarded a medal in recognition of my service.
